Privacy Policy

ATSwala (“ATSwala,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website atswala.in and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and applicable Indian privacy law.
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use ATSwala.
1. Information we collect
We collect the minimum information needed to run the Service.
- Account information. When you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from the provider. We do not collect or store passwords.
- Resume content. Information you upload, type, or paste into ATSwala — including your work history, education, skills, projects, and contact details.
- Usage information. Pages you visit, features you use, ATS scores generated, AI features triggered, device and browser type, and approximate location (derived from IP).
- Payment information. When you upgrade to a paid plan, payment is processed by Razorpay. We receive a payment confirmation and order metadata, but we do not see or store your full card number, UPI PIN, or bank credentials.
- Communications. Emails you send us at support@atswala.in.
2. How we use your information
- Provide and operate the Service (build resumes, score ATS compatibility, run AI features).
- Save your resumes so you can come back to them.
- Process payments and grant access to paid plans.
- Send transactional emails (sign-in confirmations, receipts, important account notices).
- Improve features, fix bugs, and understand which features are useful.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- Comply with applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information or your resume content.
3. Browser-side processing
Where possible, we process your resume directly in your browser — this includes parsing PDF and DOCX uploads, calculating the basic ATS score, and generating PDF downloads. In these flows, the file never leaves your device.
4. AI processing
Several features (AI bullet rewrites, summary generator, detailed ATS reports, JD matching, Roast Mode, and similar) send the relevant resume text to Anthropic’s Claude API for processing. Anthropic processes this content on our behalf and, per their terms, does not use it to train their foundation models.
We log metadata about each AI call (feature used, tokens consumed, timestamp) in order to enforce rate limits, bill correctly, and monitor for abuse. We do not retain AI responses beyond what is needed to show them to you and save them to your resume.
5. Third-party services we use
We rely on a small set of trusted vendors. Each has its own privacy policy and processes only the data needed for its role.
- Supabase — authentication, database, file storage.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — AI features.
- Razorpay — payment processing (UPI, cards, wallets, netbanking).
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
- PostHog — product analytics.
- Google & LinkedIn — sign-in only (we receive your basic profile, not your contacts or posts).
6. Cookies and tracking
We use first-party cookies (and similar storage) to keep you signed in, remember preferences, attribute referrals, and measure anonymous usage. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the Service may not work if you do.
7. Data storage and security
Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted in the Mumbai (India) region. We use Row-Level Security so that one user cannot read another user’s resumes or account data. Connections to our Service are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
No system is 100% secure. If we become aware of a security incident that affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
8. Data retention
- Active accounts. We keep your resumes and profile for as long as your account is active.
- Inactive free accounts. If you do not sign in for 90 consecutive days and are not on a paid plan, we may delete your resumes and reset usage history. We will email you before deleting.
- Paid accounts. We keep your payment records for as long as required by tax and accounting law in India (typically 8 years).
- On account deletion. We delete your resumes and profile within 30 days, except records we are legally required to retain.
9. Your rights
Under Indian privacy law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Export your resume content.
- Withdraw consent for processing (this may end your access to the Service).
- Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@atswala.in. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Children
ATSwala is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and notify you by email or an in-product notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
